Community Care

What we're about:

The aim of Community Care is to be the hearts, hands and feet of Jesus in the local community. Community Care can be easily spotted round the streets with their bright yellow t-shirts and smiling faces.

Talking with people as they go. the group serve the community with practical help such as picking up rubbish round the streets, painting fences, mowing lawns, washing windows, and other diverse activities which help our community be a better place to live.

Kids' Performing Arts

Cost:
$25 per term, includes afternoon tea

What we're about:

The programme covers basic performance skills across the three areas of choir, drama and dance. In choir, through vocal exercises and songs, we teach the children to listen to each other and sing as a group and explore aspects of good vocal production. In drama, using games, exercises and plays, we explore how to use our faces, bodies and voices to best portray a character and convey meaning to the audience. The dance class aims to teach students basic dance technique and performance expression.

Craft Group

$1 per session, plus a small charge to cover materials

What we're about:

This group of women represent a wide age-range and build relationships in a relaxed atmosphere of creativity, including card-making and a variety of other up-to-date craft ideas. Participants share morning tea and a thought for the day.

Anyone interested is welcome on a regular or casual basis. Creche is available.

Mainly Music

$2 donation per family per session

What we're about

Mainly Music brings young children and their parents or caregivers together for a fun morning of movement, rhythm and music. It provides an opportunity for young children to develop their motor skills and co-ordination, with plenty of social interaction for children and their mums. There is generally a waiting list, but anyone interested is welcome to visit.

Furnace

None, except for occasional outings.

What we're about:

Furnace is a community youth centre run with the heart to create a safe, caring environment for this community's young people to be on a Friday night. It is a place where young people have heaps of fun, while being supported by positive, older role models. On the usual Friday nights we have pool, basketball, Xbox, Playstation and table tennis, to name just a few activities! We also go on outings - we have had a bonfire, boating/wakeboarding, swimming, etc.
